GRMF presents first payments for the drilling grants of both Tulu Moye and Corbetti geothermal projects

by | Feb 15, 2021

Early in the first quarter (February 2021), both the Tulu Moye and Corbetti geothermal projects have received their first payments for the drilling grant established by the Geothermal Risk Mitigation Facility (GRMF) for Eastern Africa.

GRMF is an organization launched in April 2012 that acts as a catalyst for geothermal development in Eastern Africa, and is a consortium between the African Union Commission (AUC), the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the EU-Africa infrastructure Trust Fund (EU ITF) via KfW Entwicklungsbank (KfW). The program co-finances surface studies and drilling programs aimed at developing geothermal energy projects.
