British Standards Institution (BSI) conducted Stage 2 audits at Reykjavik Geothermal’s Atlanta and New York offices on 23 and 24 June, respectively. They found no non-conformities, and both offices will be recommended for ISO 9001: 2008 certification.
Reykjavik Geothermal (RG) has adopted ISO 9001 as the “best practice” foundation for the company’s Business Management System. Utilization of international quality standards is the key method for ensuring reliable procedures and processes. Implementation of ISO 26000 on social responsibility and SA 8000 on social accountability has been completed, and work is under way on both ISO 14001 on environmental management and OHSAS 18001 on occupational health and safety.
These ISO systems will ensure reliability and validity of RG’s project management and products, which include consulting, business and project development, investment, construction, and operation. RG guarantees safe delivery, stable management, and a continuous increase in quality of all projects and products. International economic project realization is guaranteed with RG’s commitment to company values, emphasizing passion, responsibility, integrity, and quality, as well as a contribution to sustainable development, including HSE (health and safety) and environmental protection.
It is our firm belief that this milestone will enhance our already strong image and brand. Reykjavik Geothermal is, and will continue to be, a leader in its field.
